Analysis: The 25-year-old McHugh went 0-1 with a 10.29 ERA in three games this year, including one start. The Mets designated him for assignment on June 15.
|6/18/2013||Clay Buchholz, P (Bos)||The Boston Red Sox have put Buchholz on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained neck.
Analysis: Buchholz is 9-0 and leads the majors with a 1.71 ERA. The right-hander made an early exit from his latest start against the Angels on June 8. The Red Sox said they didn't want to take any chances with Buchholz and put him on the DL retroactive to June 9.

Analysis: He has yet to play a game with the Orioles.

Analysis: He had started nine of the previous 11 games at first base, and was hitting .176 with 13 strikeouts in 34 plate appearances.

Analysis: Because Wheeler is joining the team under a rule that allows 26-man rosters for doubleheaders, he won't have to spend 10 days in the minors before rejoining what will become a six-man rotation.

Analysis: He has dropped three straight games despite having a 2.70 ERA in those contests.
|6/18/2013||Shelby Miller, P (StL)||After waiting out a rain delay of 1 hour, 59 minutes to start the game, Miller (8-4) pitched five scoreless innings in Monday's 5-2 victory over the Cubs.
Analysis: Miller allowed just two hits and struck out five in the shortest start of his career. His previous shortest stint was 5 1-3 innings at Los Angeles on May 26.
|6/18/2013||Yadier Molina, C (StL)||Molina had two more hits Monday night against the Chicago Cubs, including a two-run double, to help the Cardinals to a 5-2 win in the opener of a four-game series. Those two hits raised his average to a National League best .355.
Analysis: Although Molina has topped the .300 mark the past two seasons, hitting .305 in 2011 and a career-best .315 last season, he seems to be at a different level in 2013, though he appears afraid to he might jinx himself.
