6/18/2013	Eric Young, RF (NYM)	The New York Mets have traded right-hander Collin McHugh for Young. Analysis: Young hit .242 with one home run, six RBIs and eight stolen bases in 57 games this season before Colorado designated him for assignment on June 12. The 28-year-old from New Brunswick, N.J., is a career .261 hitter with 70 steals.
6/18/2013	Collin McHugh, P (Col)	The New York Mets traded McHugh to the Colorado Rockies for outfielder Eric Young Jr. Analysis: The 25-year-old McHugh went 0-1 with a 10.29 ERA in three games this year, including one start. The Mets designated him for assignment on June 15.
6/18/2013	Clay Buchholz, P (Bos)	The Boston Red Sox have put Buchholz on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained neck. Analysis: Buchholz is 9-0 and leads the majors with a 1.71 ERA. The right-hander made an early exit from his latest start against the Angels on June 8. The Red Sox said they didn't want to take any chances with Buchholz and put him on the DL retroactive to June 9.
6/18/2013	Travis Ishikawa, 1B (Bal)	The Baltimore Orioles have purchased the contract of Ishikawa from Triple-A Norfolk and put right-hander Miguel Gonzalez on the paternity list. Analysis: He has yet to play a game with the Orioles.
6/18/2013	Chris McGuiness, 1B (Tex)	The Rangers optioned McGuiness to Triple-A Round Rock. Analysis: He had started nine of the previous 11 games at first base, and was hitting .176 with 13 strikeouts in 34 plate appearances.
6/18/2013	Scott Atchison, P (NYM)	Atchison was activated from the DL to bolster the Mets' bullpen. Analysis: Atchison owns a 4.50 ERA in 19 appearances this season.
6/18/2013	Zack Wheeler, P (NYM)	Wheeler is making his major league debut in Game 2 Tuesday night, but he'll technically be optioned back to the minors after the game no matter the outcome. Analysis: Because Wheeler is joining the team under a rule that allows 26-man rosters for doubleheaders, he won't have to spend 10 days in the minors before rejoining what will become a six-man rotation.
6/18/2013	Travis Wood, P (ChC)	Wood (5-6) was again a hard-luck loser, as he gave up four runs on seven hits in Monday's 5-2 loss to St. Louis. Analysis: He has dropped three straight games despite having a 2.70 ERA in those contests.
6/18/2013	Shelby Miller, P (StL)	After waiting out a rain delay of 1 hour, 59 minutes to start the game, Miller (8-4) pitched five scoreless innings in Monday's 5-2 victory over the Cubs. Analysis: Miller allowed just two hits and struck out five in the shortest start of his career. His previous shortest stint was 5 1-3 innings at Los Angeles on May 26.
6/18/2013	Yadier Molina, C (StL)	Molina had two more hits Monday night against the Chicago Cubs, including a two-run double, to help the Cardinals to a 5-2 win in the opener of a four-game series. Those two hits raised his average to a National League best .355. Analysis: Although Molina has topped the .300 mark the past two seasons, hitting .305 in 2011 and a career-best .315 last season, he seems to be at a different level in 2013, though he appears afraid to he might jinx himself.
6/18/2013	Ben Revere, CF (Phi)	Revere finished 2 for 5 in Monday's 5-4 victory over the Nationals. Analysis: Revere is batting .432 during an eight-game hitting streak.
6/18/2013	Denard Span, CF (Was)	The Nationals hope to have Span back on Tuesday. Analysis: He wasn't in the lineup after fouling a ball off his right foot in the sixth inning of Sunday's 2-0 loss to Cleveland.
6/18/2013	Steve Lombardozzi, 2B (Was)	Lombardozzi had two hits, including an RBI double, for the Nationals in Monday's 5-4 loss to the Phillies. Analysis: Lonbardozzi had one RBI in his previous 12 games.
6/18/2013	John Lannan, P (Phi)	allowed six hits and two runs in five innings, striking out four and walking one in Monday's 5-4 win over Washington. Analysis: Lannan, a former mainstay in the Nationals' rotation, made his first start since April 17 after a nearly two-month stint on the disabled list with a strained tendon in his left knee.
